I, Sandra Odom, grew up in northeastern Tennessee, watching my mother create and work at several cottage industries:  She sold eggs and strawberries to the grocery store and neighbors. She made clothes for all of us and other people.  She cut hair.  She wrote poetry.  Eventually, she created a genealogy of her family and my dad's, too.  Seeing her earn her own money, while being a wife and mother developed a deep knowledge and understanding of running a successful enterprise. Without realizing it I must have  absorbed my mother's unique insight and determination to carry on a tradition started in the Odom family many years ago.
